Still Waters, the newest EP from The Como Brothers Band, does not disappoint!! This sophomore album was anything you could have asked for and then some!! From awesome lyrics to catchy riffs, great vocals to awesome instrumentation, the boys brought it! Historically many bands sophomore release is one that does not quite live up to there original album! However The Como Brothers took their time and put out an amazing EP! From the opening lyrics and riff of ‘Parachute’ I was hooked, with a Foo Fighters feel ‘Parachute’ really sets the tempo for this album! The next track ‘Bad Karma’ takes on this Sublime sounding genre and well to put it simply gets your body rocking! The rest well you’ll just have to pick up a copy and listen for yourself!
A familiar name for those who read our blog and listen to our countdowns!! Definitely one of our favorite artists, Rae has a beautiful voice and incredible song writing skills!! Now she needs everyone’s help! She has just moved on to the second round of voting for CBC Music’s best new artist!! Voting closes March 3rd for this round so let’s get voting people!! Right at our very own MarchOn Charity Festival!! The guys in You Vs Me have put together an amazing product and the results don’t lie!! With their latest EP “The Book Of …” enjoying continued success, You Vs Me continues to grow its massive fan base! We are extremely excited to have them at our event and can’t wait to meet their fans at our show!!
The latest release from the West London band, The Bedroom Hour! The band has been comprised of a few other bands coming together to form an indie super group! With influences like Death Cab and Pink Floyd, it is evident to hear some of these familiar melodies and tones in their music. Submarine is a slower ballad, with very rhythmic guitar sections as well as what appears to be a synth!! The harmonies in the background of this song also provide that very Pink Floyd feel which is why I was quick to gravitate towards it! This is definitely a band to check out, not a sound you hear everyday in the indie world which is why they stand out so much!!
On Sunday I got a new twitter follower by the name of Thomas Walker! I was at a concert so I quickly read his bio and saw that his music is influenced by Hunter Hayes. Oddly enough around 100ft away from me was Hunter Hayes serenading the audience with his piano ballad ‘Wanted’! After talking with Thomas for a bit I was eager to get home and check out his stuff!! In his list of YouTube video’s I saw his own version of ‘Wanted’, which you can watch just below. I was immediately impressed with Thomas! His vocal ability in this song is outstanding to say the least! From the 2:40 point and on of the video you can really get an understanding of his full range as he captures probably the best part of the song beautifully! For all my country listeners or for people who just appreciate good singing this is someone you are going to want to follow!

With the most recent Bond movie came yet another fantastic Bond theme song. Adele’s ‘Skyfall’ is already being considered one of the best to date. However I’m not posting this to talk about Adele. I’m posting this to shine light on an indie pop artist who steps up to the plate and knocks this song out of the park!! From Los Angeles, meet Hollie LA!! From Dublin, Ireland, Frank has made Toronto his home for the last few years. In this short period of time he was able to work with the talented Ian Thornley from Big Wreck!! Frank was given the opportunity to open up for Big Wreck at Beerfest this year, as well as take part in Ottawa’s Juno’s Festival. With musical inspirations like John Mayer and Led Zeppelin, to name a few, his music is able to stand out amongst the crowd. His amazing vocals and powerful lyrics speak for themselves!!
